Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 2026. This page explains what stkrd.com collects, why, and your choices. We keep it short and collect as little as possible.

Making regular QR codes

Regular QR codes are made entirely in your browser. What you type and any logo you add never leave your device and are not stored by us.

Tracked codes and short links

When you create a tracked code or short link we store your email address, the link it points to, its design settings and when it was made. We use your email only to send your private stats link, weekly reports you can switch off, and, if you tick the box, one message when Pro launches. To stop abuse we keep a one-way scrambled fingerprint of your connection, not your IP address.

When someone scans or clicks

For each scan or click we record the time, the country (looked up from the IP address with a local database, then the IP address is discarded), the device type, the phone’s language, and an anonymous visitor code used only to count unique people. That code is made with a secret that changes every month and is then deleted, so nobody can be identified or followed across months. We do not store IP addresses or build profiles.

Link safety

To protect people from phishing and malware, the links behind tracked codes are checked with Google Web Risk when they are created and regularly after that. Only the link is sent, never your email.

Ads and cookies

stkrd is free because it shows ads from Google AdSense. Google and its partners may use cookies to show and measure ads. Visitors in the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland are asked for consent first. You can manage personalised ads at Google Ad Settings. Our own site uses only the cookies WordPress needs to work.

Who else processes data

Our hosting provider stores the site and its database. Emails are sent through our mail server. Google provides ads and link safety checks. Country lookups use the DB-IP Lite database stored on our own server. We never sell your data.

How long we keep it

Tracked codes and their scan history are kept while the code exists. You can ask us to delete your codes, stats and email at any time and we will do it within 30 days. Waitlist emails are kept until Pro launches or you ask us to remove them.

Your rights

You can ask to see, correct or delete the personal data we hold about you, or object to how we use it. Contact us through our contact page from the email you used. If you are in the EU or UK you also have the right to complain to your data protection authority.

Changes

If we change this policy we will update this page and the date above. Big changes will be emailed to owners of tracked codes.
